またコンピュータグラフィックを試してみようと思って作ったイラストです。鉛筆やペンのスケッチなどを一切使わず、女性の顔を「フラッシュ」という画像編集ソフトで線を簡単に真っすぐ描ける機能である「ラインツール」を利用して描きました。

This is another picture that I made to try out some computer graphic techniques. Without using a pencil or pen sketch at all, I drew a woman's face using the "line tool," a feature in the graphic editing software called Flash that can draw straight lines.

ラインツールで描いた真っすぐの線の中心または中心の周り（線の端以外の部分ならどこでも良いです）をマウスで引っ張ってマウスを動かせば、簡単に曲線にできますので、ムラのない綺麗な曲線を素早く作れます。

If you pull with the mouse on the center or any area near the center of a straight line that you have drawn with the line tool (anywhere other than the two ends of the line is fine) and then move the mouse, you can easily make a curved line. So you can make a beautifully curved line with no flaws very quickly in Flash.

真っすぐの線を描いておいて、それをマウスで引っ張って、曲線にして、そしてその作業を繰り返しているだけで形の輪郭線ができるわけです。今回の場合はそのようにまず頭を作ってから髪の毛や顔の表情をその上に入れました。その後、塗りたい色を決めて、輪郭線からできた形の内部にマウスを指しクリックするだけで色の付いた形ができます。

You can make the outline of a shape simply by drawing a straight line, pulling this with your mouse to curve it, and then repeating that process over and over again. For the piece that I am showing this time, I used that method to first make the head and then put in the hair and facial features over that. After that, all you have to do is decide on the colors you want things to be, put your mouse inside shapes made up the outlines, and click to create colored shapes.

そのように制作し顔を描いた後、こんどはその顔の透明度を部分的に調整をすることで顔自体が泡の集まりからできているように見せかけ、その上に緑の丸も色々な透明度で重ねてみました。

After making the face using those techniques, next I tweaked the level of transparency of the face in places to make it look like the face itself is made out of a clump of bubbles and layered green circles of different transparency levels over that.

最後に以前からインターネットからダウンロードしたフォントを利用して文字を付け加えました。このフォントはサイエンスフィクションの映画にでそうなどこかの惑星の文字というテーマに基づいて作られたらしく、普通の英語の文字を入力するだけで自動的に信号のようなものへと変えてくれるフォントです。読む方は意味が分かりませんので使う機会はあまりありませんが、イラストの中で、視覚的な要素として利用するのにピッタリなフォントだと思います。文字らしい印象が残りますが、絵に意味などを加えませんので邪魔しない存在ですね。

Lastly, I used a font that I had already downloaded from the internet previously to add the text. This font was supposedly created based on the theme of symbols that you might see in a science fiction movie. It automatically changes the normal English letters that you type into these symbol-like shapes. You can't really convey meanings to the reader, so I don't have many occasions to use this font, but it is the perfect font to use as a purely visual element in a picture. It gives the impression of text, but because it doesn't add any specific meaning to the picture, it doesn't get in the way.

今回の絵はあくまで実験的なものを作りたい気分で作成したものですが、作るのも楽しかったですし、出来は悪くないと思いますので、またいつかこのようなものをまた作りたいと思います。

This was a picture that I made purely out of the desire to experiment, but it was very fun to make and I am fairly satisfied with how it turned out, so I want to make more like it someday.
